About Nathan Yuen
I’m Nathan Yuen, a Melbourne-based freelance lighting programmer and operator working as LumeAV. I started in lighting in 2021.
Since late 2024, I’ve worked regularly as a subcontractor for production companies, programming and operating concerts and live shows from 600 to 3,000 capacity, including shows with international artists. I work across grandMA2 and grandMA3, running cue-based shows and busking live when the show calls for it.

Programming and operating on grandMA2 and grandMA3 for live concerts and shows. Show files, playback structure and programming are prepared around the production’s needs.
Lighting design and cueing
Lighting design and cueing for live shows, from shaping the show’s visual structure to building cues that support each section and transition.
Live busking
Live busking for shows that need responsive operation rather than fully timecoded playback. Cues and looks are adapted in the moment to follow the performance.
House LX operation
House LX operation for venues, including preparing and running the lighting system for visiting productions. Clear communication with touring teams keeps the show moving safely and efficiently.
Show network and data setup
Show network and data setup covering sACN, DMX and wireless console remotes. Systems are configured with a practical focus on reliable communication between console, lighting network and fixtures.
